I have a 1995 Nissan Maxima that will not start. It was running fine and started right up the other day. But now, when I attempt to start it, I turn the key, the engine sounds like it turns over for 1 or 2 seconds I hear it's rumble, then it turns off and I see the check engine light. Any suggestions on what it could be? Thank you.

Does the engine cranks over and refuses to start or it won't crank over at all.

Rule out the battery and connections and then comeback. I'll be waiting

Spray some carbuerator cleaner into the throttle body-do this 2x and if it fires up 2x-check the actual fuel pressure and comeback with the readings for interpretation-if it doesn't start and die-disconnect a sparkplug wire and ground it to the engine and have helper crank engine over while you look for spark-do you have spark? This is where we stop till you come back.

BTW do you have a check engine light or has flashed before this problem? Also when was the last tune-up?
