I just bought a 1994 nissan maxima GXE. The car passed emissions and it seems to run ok however the ck engine light was coming on and off and then stayed on and the car seemed to be running rough and idling rough and "skipping". I had two opinions and they both thought that the car was only running on 4 cyl and not all 6 cyl. Do I have to fix the 2 cyl and does this diagnosis sound correct?

Not sure who you are getting your opinions from, but their advice should be have the code read for the service engine soon light and see what it is faulting. Hopefully the code will lead you to the part that is malfunctioning and get you on your way.
