1993 Nissan Maxima 93 maxima ran out of gas wont start now

I have a 1993 maxiama, it was running fine, I ran out of gas, i came back to the car put 4 gallons of gas in it but it will not start, we pushed it poped the clutch & started up & i was able to get it home, but when it slowed down it wanted to die out, rpms would not stay up or idle...can you please advise?

Check the fuel filter could be clogged up
