I just got my car running again after almost 6 months of sitting in the drive way i put it in the shop and had a new alternator and a new battery put in it everything was going good the car was driving smooth and everything but just this morning i took my kid to school and i noticed that it was not acclerating right it would like jerk and make this ticking noise coming from the engine so i really have no idea where to look i dont even think i am giving enough info for someone to help me but maybe someone out there can try and work with me to figure out what is going on thanks either way.

Hi Ricky,

Well since it has set for 6 months without running it is possible that you will need to replace the plags, cap and rotor. And if the wires are original I would suggest replacing them also.

Another possibility would be a partially clogged fuel filter.

The ticking could be that your Oil is low, or just that the lifter are dry and will take a little time for them to lube up and also could be that some are sticking and will take time to break loose.
