Hi pyperliree

A new battery that has been drained of its power is not faulty but it is not going to crank the engine. you need to recharge it and it would be good again.

When no clicking is heard while cranking with another battery, check terminals and cable ground connections.

When you use jumper cables, the jumper used might not have the capacity for high rate discharge of the power to the starter.

Check the fuses to see if any had been blown while you were doing jump starting.
