My engine has been idling rough. My mechanic told me that I have a bad fuel injector which should be replaced. If I continue to drive with the bad injector, in addition to getting increasingly poor gas mileage, am I endangering my safety? I will be donating the car shortly, so I don't want to make the repair, but I still need the car for the next few weeks,to drive to and from work.
Thanks for your help.

If it's a bad injector, it isn't going to hurt anything but performance to drive it. If you know which cylinder is causing the problem, you may want to check spark plug, plug wire, or a vacuum leak. This could be a quick, cheap fix. Hope this helps.
