Transmission problem
1990 Nissan Maxima 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 170.00 miles

Hi , I could not separate automatic tranmiission from engine , Nissan maxima 170.000 miles , all the bolts attaching to engine have been removed and 4 bolts attached driveplate to torque converter have been removed , too , and two rear tranmission holding have removed , and all hardness connection have removed .
I see the case seperated the engine about 1/2 to 3/4 inch , but the torque converter didi not seperate from driveplate , 4 bolts have been removed , even how hard I pulled and lower , but It didi not complete seperate .
Please, someone tell me what did I do wrong ? Can on Nissan Maxima 1990 tranaxle remove from engine as seperate unit ? Any helps will be appreciated

Sounds like the converter is stuck in the end of the crankshaft. Are you sure thereare only 4 converter bolts? if so you may be in for a mess when the converter comes out of the trans and begins draining.I dont advise trying to push the converter back into the trans, you could damage the front pump, they need to be spun while pushing in to get them to engage the pump.See if you can spin theconverter.Try using a screwdriver to pop it out of the crank. If th y are 1/2 inch or so apart, I doubt there are any bolts left holding it

Hi Jack !
Thank you very much for quick responding , You're right , torque converter was stuck on Driveplate , I used the small pry bar pry it off , and the tor que converter came off the driveplate , not damage any thing , and the Tranaxle has completed from off vihecle and ready overhaul ,
The problem solved , Are you very good on overhaul Tranaxle Jack ? then see you around .
Once again Thanh you very much 2carpro support team .
