270,000 miles, Auto, V-6, replaced heads at 243,000, has been running great. Pulled out from stop sign and it was like I turned the key off. Waited 5 minutes and it started again, running smooth. Went about 100 feet and it shut off again. Has not started since. Coil and power transistor check good. 4o lbs. of fuel pressure to engine, no spark. All electrical connections and vac hoses check good. Get a code saying engine temp sensor is bad. Would this keep it from starting?

The coolant temperature sensor is like the choke on the carb it demands for fuel during an initial start up.

Inspect the rotor, cap and coil high tension wire-still No spark check the distributor pick-up/Crank Angle Sensor.

Also double check the fuel pump at times the pump will operate and then goes kaput when hot.
