Electrical problem
1979 Datsun 1600 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual
I installed a new battery. When I went to start the car all the lights worked and the car went to kick over. Then all of a sudden everything went dead. I left it about 2 mins then just turned the key to Acc, and the lights and CD player worked fine. After about 30 seconds everything died again. Not sure why this would happen.

Double check battery and connections and test the ignition switch
