I have a '03 nissan altima. I have had it checked for the second time a couple of wks ago and got a diagnostic test done again b/c the check engine light was on. Nothing came up and they turned the light off. Two miles later the light was on again. When I got my car inspected, it failed b/c it was idling at 2400 rpm. Do you think this is a leak or I need a new valve if it isn't detectable?

the vehicle has lost its idle parameters. now a simple reset, with the proper software/scan tool, might fix it or the throttle body itself might be bad. either way you need to find someone with the proper equipment to repair this.
