2002 Nissan Altima When I select Drive The Engine cuts Off

When I start the car the, it starts and the rotations per min (rpm) goes higher than 1. Then I select the R or D on the automatic transmission the rpm falls and eventually cut off the engine. This will happen several times before I will be able to reverse and drive the car. It will run smoothly but at stops or at very low speeds it cuts off with the rpm showing just above zero.

Get the electronic throttle control actuator checked out

Please where is the electronic throttle actuator and can one change the spring if it is not returning well. Thanks
