I had asked a question last Thur 9/24 concerning
my Altima losing its HP I did receive a answer and I thank you, I could not respond earlier because I was
on a scheduled vacation and I have just returned.I see in your answer to my question you had asked if my check engine light was on? The answer is yes. And has been for some time.I been reading a lot of post concerning this model Altima and all of the trouble with there catalytic converters. Prire to
my problem with lose of HP the car would on occasion smoke when first started. I also see there was a recall on this model car back in 2003 but I cant find out what was exactly was done to correct the problems with the pre cad burning up and being sucked up into the exhaust manifold and causing engine problems, I appreciate your answer to my question but I believe this problem may be a more serious problem just from reading the hundreds of people experiencing the same problems I am once again thanks.

I dont know who answered your question before but im guessing they wanted to know if the light was on so you could tell them what codes are stored on the computer if you havent had the car put on a scanner you can go to someplace like autozone and they will usually check for codes for free. The check engine light is on so the computer has codes stored. Find out which codes and let me know
