Engine Mechanical problem
2002 Nissan Altima 4 cyl Automatic 123000 miles

I recently had my engine fixed and now afterwards it is making noise. I was told that it would stop once all the valves had a chance to adjust. I took it back due to the noise and was told that it was the lifters and the exhaust manifold that was the problem. Are not the lifters and exhaust manifold not part of the engine?

Hi there,

The lash adjusters (lifters) and exhaust manifold are indeed part of the engine, can you tell me what the original repair was, this will be a help to determine if these items will be related to the work done.

do what [b:b949cb9132]mhpautos[/b:b949cb9132] says.

and check to see if the upper chain guide was replaced.
It should be thrown away on most engines, But I'm not sure of the years without checking my notes.
