1998 Nissan Altima Brake Lights Stay On
Electrical problem
1998 Nissan Altima 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 140000 miles
unless i disconnect my battery, my brake lights stay on. I've read that it might be the brake light switch or even just the little button might be missing. I taped a penny (in what i think is the right place) but the lights stayed on. is there any way i can be sure what the problem is without replacing the brake light switch (seeing as how it's not very easy to get to). Any help is appreciated. thanks

Nope. Yo have to replace the switch, the only option. It is not that hard. Remove the wiring connector, and loosen the nut. Remove faulty switch, and install the new one. Plug the wiring connector back in. That is it.
