Hi I have a Nissan Altima 1995 GXE with 150000 Miles on it.
I am facing a problem since last one month that,
Whenever I try to speed up from 10MPH to 20MPH or from 20MPH to say 35-40MPH , how hard I press the accelerator, the car does not catch up the speed.
The Engine Revolutions raise to 4k or even 5.5k at times but car does not catch up the speed. Then it gives a jerk and suddenly it catches the speed by 10-20MPH, this thing happen only at lower speeds , but once it reached 55MPH or 65MPH the problem disappear. So problem occur only when raising the speed at lower speeds say from 10 to 20 or 20 to 30 or 30 -40, after fourty mph it works perfectly fine. Can someone please let me know what could be the issue here ?
-Thanks in Advance.

Hi there,

This is sounding like a fault in the automatic transmission, all you can do is check that the oil level is ok, and get a transmission specialist to inspect it for you, there may be a set fault code for the transmission, so that would be a starting place.

It's something with the tranny. Mine revs up to 3-4k in 1st gear then jumps to 2nd suddenly.
