Engine Performance problem
2003 Nissan Almera Front Wheel Drive Manual

When I start off in 1st gear there is very little acceleration and then the power kicks in as normal. Then I change to second and its the same. Theres just high revs with no power(acceleration) and then the acceration kicks in a short while after changing into 2nd gear. Its the same in 3rd gear but fine in 4th and 5th. What could the problem be?

If the clutch is not slipping check the items below

Oxygen sensor
Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires
