I have a 92 nissan 300zx that ive taken to get a tune up when I got it out of the shop it started cuting off and shaking. And everytime I press the gas it shakes and sort of putters while accelerating. So I figured id take it to the dealer and they told me that the other shop damaged my coils for my fuel injectors and my spark plugs and also that my air sensor needed to be replaced. It cost me around 1266.00 and the problem still remains. So they told me to take it back in because its a different air sensor that need to be replaced. But I was thinking could a bad air sensor make a car run like a lawnmower? I thought the air sensors where to tell you when the car wasn't getting enough or too much air. And if it was the air sensor then the check engine light would be on right? So what do you think is wrong with my car. Much needed help!

I have a 300zx and when I bought the car it hesitated when I step on the gas for the first couple RPMs and then drives normal. I asked and researched till I found out that there is a common problem which this car encounters. The Ignition coil ECU goes bad due to a manufacture defect especially 1990-1993 models and you have to change it at the dealer only. If you don't change it, the engine will misfire and that's why your car shakes. A fine tune up will be your next thing, but since you did it, then timming must be messed up. Let me know what happens
