Dear mechanics, when I drive my 300zx theres a miss in the engine and although I was told that was normal for this car when its been ran so hard for 25+ years. Nobody has given me a straight answer to why something like that would happen. If you could help me asap I would be grateful?

When was the last time you gave it a major tune-up?

Engine misfiring can be caused by worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak spark (weak coil, bad spark plug wire), loss of compression, vacuum leaks, anything that causes an unusually lean fuel mixture (lean misfire), an EGR valve that is stuck open, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or even bad fuel.
