1998 Nissan 200SX Repair Question

1998 Nissan 200SX IGNITION WONT ENGAGE
Electrical problem
1998 Nissan 200SX 4 cyl Manual 136000 miles
my 1998 nissan 200 sx drove good this morning in the afternoon it would do nothing when i turned the key. Tried jumping it, still wouldn't start. Finally popped the clutch and ran fine. I bought a new battery and had the ignition tested and it was good? It still doesn't start. All the lights come on when you turn the key the starter has a humming sound..not clicking.. what else could it be?

Did you check the starter? You may need to pull it out to bench test.
