My sharan has lost power to both sets of wipers and to the blower. It comes and goes but it has got gradually worse. Everything else seems fine as far as I can tell. Everything seemed ok when I got in to the car. But due to the rain I almost crashed as it just gave out. The blower will work sometimes and then out of the blue it will just stop.

Check the Ignition switch ``load reduction`` circuit. Could be that the load reduction relay is not getting power from the ignition switch or the relay itself is bad.

After doing a lot of looking at several relays etc and being sold the wrong bits took it to the garage as my bonnet also got stuck. It was sent back after 2 days as I had said I had a budget and wanted a quote first, he said he didn't want to dint the bonnet as he would have to wrench it open. So said I would take it home and think of the next course of action. I let my son have a look and with an hour he had the bonnet open with the help of his brother and we all got our heads together and with some jiggling a bout of relays found it to be relay 18, was told it was allsorts and vw dealers didn't have a clue. If this helps anyone with the same problem it is the relay 18 above the fuse box, said as we found out as we went to a scrap yard to try and get the relay but only had petrols in and couldn't find the relays anywhere, the scrap man had not clue either
