First thing in the morning my 2000 eclipse auto 24v v6 clicks and ticks (quit loud) until warm then it goes away. No oil pressure til warm, them runs fine. I commute to Seattle for work and I am worrying about damage. Runs fine when click stops. Oil level ok, a little bit of leak, I check oil often, just got oil change and filter and used additive.

Sheri needs help

This could be caused by more than one thing it could be your oil pump going out or if the engine was ever ran without oil then it could be that the rod and main bearings are worn to the point that it can not build oil pressure. Also could be that your oil supply ports are clogged. You should take it to your local repair shop and have it looked at. Any of these issues could engine damage if not corrected and it will not just go away.
