I have an 02 mitsu galant w/ 80,000 miles and the battery light just started coming up. I had the battery tested and it said that the battery was good to go and there was a charging problem. I think its the alternator but I dont think it is completely shot because after I start driving and gettin some rpms in the engine it goes off. I just wanted a more experienced opinion before I go and throw down the money cuz everyone knows about military salaries. Thanks

Try re-adjusting the alternator belt for a start then report back. Don't worry servicemember I'll throw down the answers.

I tried that then I went out and bought a new alternator but it still didnt fix the problem my only thing that I think it could be now is that the battery is so drained that I cant get it to hold a charge so my next step is to buy a new battery unless there is anything else that you could tell me. Thanks
