1990 Other Mitsubishi Models 4DR5 black smoke

i have a toyota landcruiser with a mitsubishi 4DR5 diesel engine, maybe 1990's. Why do i have a very black smoke in my exhaust, everytime i start it, and when it runs. I have already calibrated the injection pump, changed the fuel filter and engine oil. i still get the black smoke. What do you think are the other causes? And how do i fix it? tnx

H i there,

Black smoke is over fueling. Have the injectors checked, was the pump calibration done by a diesel work shop? if not get it checked as the over fueling will cause detonation and you will break a piston.
