OE dist went out. Went to the wreckiing yard and found an exact year, make, and model, with exact specs as my car and got the dist, installed it, car runs o.K. After adjustments. Problem is this, when I go to set the base timing, I only have 3 degrees BTDC. There is very limited turning adjustment radius, I have no advance or retard, like it is fixed at 3 degrees. Specs for this car is 5 degrees BTDC +or- 3 degrees with timing connector shorted to ground. How can I correct this problem?

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

The timing spec's i get on Mitchell 1 data base fall with in what you are running now, see table... for me i would run with that, but if you want i will do a bit more research, let me know what you want to do.
