Hello, a few days ago my husband replaced my brake pads and rotors. The next day I noticed a grinding noise when the car is in gear and stopped. As soon as the car goes into nuetral or pressure is released off the brake the noise instantly goes away. Sometimes adding more pressure to the brake also stops the grinding. My husband checked everything out and couldn't find anything wrong so we took it into a shop. They told us, without looking at it, that it is probably a transmission problem and we should take it to a transmission shop. Should we try a different shop first or take it to the transmission shop?
Thank you ABR

Hi there, thank you for the donation,

With the car stopped and in gear this noise will not be coming from the brakes, what I find a bit hard to understand is that if the brake pressure is increased the noise may ease up, most strange. I would be inclined to get a second opinion first before taking it to a transmission specialist.
