My distributer has suddenly stopped firing for some reason. I replaced the distributer and still have the same problem. The car just won't start. It will turn over, but it is not getting a spark at the plug.

Is the coil located inside the distributer, or somewhere else? I don't know what else to do other than take it to the shop. Can you help me with any suggestions?

The timing belt is in tact and working. What could it be?

Thanks
Will

Hi Will,

The coil is inside the distributor.

If power is available at distrinutor, the coil should spark when cranked unless the distributor or the coils is faulty.

If no power is available, it could be a blown fuse.
