What exactly does the crank sensor sense? Like if something was wrong with the pulley would it show a crank sensor code?
I've been having quite few problems with the car randomly shutting off and not revving correctly and the mechanic I go to thinks it could be the lightweight pulley I put it since that code came up, sorry I don't have the exact number, but Ive had other people say that the sensor doesn't have anything to do with the pulley. Any Ideas?

It shows what position your pistons are in. And they usually don't show a code on a scantool. Also a pad pulley won't show any code

Actually the crank sensor only senses thru magnetizm where the crank is positioned...if the wrong pulley is used, it's a wonder it runs at all...was this pulley designed for your engine? with a crank sensor? Check the old pulley, it will have spots or raised areas the magnetic sensor reads...
