Does anyone know the exact or at least a close ballpark figure to replace the key to a mitsubishi eclipse 2000 model? I lost it and need a new one and I have been told $20-500. Can anyone narrow that gap? Would it be cheaper for me to buy the key online and then have the dealer program it? Does the car need to be towed to the dealership? I can't even get in it to have it towed.

I recently repossessed a 2001 eclipse from my ex-girlfriend without the keys. The dealership will need the car in order to program your new keys to it. I paid a locksmith $200 to come to my car & make me two new transponder keys using the trunk lock as a master and then he program them to the car.
