I haven't had the chance to get code. Smog shop could not tell me. I will tomorrow get diognostic check. Went and bought code reader cost $129.00. Did check on car
And no codes. Code reader displays MIL off and smog
Report says malfuctional indicator light. What's really going on?

Does it come on when you first turn the key to the on position? It should only be on for a few seconds.

If it doesn't come on for a few seconds it is possible that the light is burnt out.

Not sure why with you Scanner you get no codes and the shop you took it too says the MIL is on.

The Smog Report you speak of is that the one from the shop?

Also has the Battery been disconnected since getting codes read?

Yes, the report was from the smog shop. They could not tell me why the MIL failed.
Yes, the battery was replaced with new battery, before doing code reader diognostic check.
If it's the sensor where is it located on the engine.
And yes the engine light comes on then goes out. After starting the engine.

Ok, When you replaced the battery you cleared any codes that might be set in the computer. Now, did you use your scanner or did the shop do the codes after battery was replaced.

If you done it then that is why you got no codes and the shop got whatever codes they got.

My suggestion would be to drive it for a couple weeks and then recheck codes.

Ok I guess I'll drive it for awile then recheck. The smog shop told me to drive it for three days then to bring it back. I had just bought the car from a towing yard bought battery then went straight to smog shop. All other test passed except MIL. Car runs great. Just didn't pass smog because MIL. I'll drive the car longer then test again. Let's see what happens. Thanks for all your time. God bless.
