my 97 eclipse last night when driving home started to over heat i was stoppping about every 5 miles to let it cool. i kept checking the coolant level and it was fine. i put the heater on to help cool and it was coming out ice cold which is wierd cause the car doesnt have a/c. it wouldnt get hot even when over heated. when i got by my house i noticed a burnt oil smell and then i heard a grinding sound and the car dead and it wont start back up or even try to turn over could anyone help me

Check and test the thermostat and remove all sparkplugs and look for coolant if any you could have blown the headgasket cracked head or block or intake leak-continues get it block and pressure tested.
