Electrical problem
1996 Mercury Villager 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

i have replaced but still not working. Took driverside and put in passengerside and still does not work. Used test lite on both sides and only one prong has power to it. Checked wire loom and do not see any problems. Thank you. Cowboy

I had the same problem on a 1997 villager but on the driver side headlight. If the headlight fuses, headlight lamps and both headlight relays are good then your problem is probably the headlight switch. That was my problem. The Haynes Repair Manual has excellent wiring information for this vehicle. Either buy one or check one out from the public library. Remove your headlight switch and test it with a volt ohm meter using guidance in the Haynes Manual. If that is the problem I would suggest buying one from the junk yard for 10-15 dollars. Otherwise, the dealer wants $270. And the parts houses want 95-130 dollars.
