Engine Cooling problem
1994 Mercury Villager 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I am having heater problems. Heater in car only works when temp guage goes above normal, then blows cold when returns to normal and repeats. I have changed thermostat and water pump. The water pump still makes funny noise but the car hasnt' overheated yet. Temp guage does go up and down though. Any helpers?

HI there,

You may have air trapped in the heater and if you say the water pump is acting strange may be its time to do that before it fails on you, also get the radiator cleaned & flow tested,
