So about 1 and half months ago i put brand new spark plugs and wires on my car and it had been running great after that. A little while after that the battery light began to come on for a second while acclerating from a stop. I drove it like that for about a month. One day as i acclerated hard from a stop light, i felt i small jolt and the engine began to make a horrible cranking noise and i was unable to accelerate. Ever since then the car will not start, and when i try to start it it makes alot of cranking noises. i tried replacing the alternator but that was not it. The timing belt was replaced at 70,000 miles and is now due for a new one now, at 142,000. I tried looking at it but could not get the plastic cover all the way off. I does not look broken but is it possible that the teeth of the belt have broke or torn? And the cranking noise is the crankshaft slipping on the belt when trying to start? thank you so much....
