1994 Mercury Tracer 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hello, I have a '94 Mercury Tracer. Up until yesterday (8/5/10) everything has ran fine with it, some minor repairs but nothing to stump my dad. Well now it has started dying at stop lights, and in drive throughs; basically if it sets too long with out gas it dies. There is no hesitation, no noise at all. It just dies as if I have turned the key off. It starts right back up with no hesitation, or protest. I thought it might have been a fluke yesterday, but it has done it again on my way in to work. I am completly stumped. There is no noise. we have watched the engine as it dies and it shows nothing out of the ordinary. Any idea what this could be?

Hi there,

When it dies, i would be checking for ignition voltage, if no ignition i would be checking the ignition switch.
