1993 Mercury Sable; 3.8L; temperature increases and decreases while driving. Fan operates. Thermostat is new. Notice that the top radiator hose was collapsed after cooling off. Could this indicate a bad radiator cap?

Cheap fix replace the collasped hose and the rad cap.
