I will give you a brief overview. A few days back, my car died on me, and a slight amount of smoke arose from under the hood. I started it up again and parked it. I'm in college and live about 45 minutes away from home, and since my dad is a mechanic I decided to bring it home and have him look at it. We filled it with 2 quarts of oil (because there was barely any in there, even though i got an oil change about a month ago) Also, there was oil in the coolent, we filled it with water, and the power steering went out. It died about 5 times, we jumped it everytime and finally got it home. None the less, The alternator broke and the supertine belt broke. My dad replaced both and it has been running fine. All of a sudden though, a ridiculous amount of smoke came out of my hood again when I stopped it tonight. It drove fine, the tempature gauge was a little high but nothing crazy. The check engine light is coming on every now and then. The hood was smoking A LOT, and it was making a strange sizzling sound. It smelled kind of sweet. Could this be a broken head gasket? Like I said, I'm in college and need all the help I can get right now. Thanks so much for your time!

Oil in the coolant isn't a good sign. Recheck both the coolant level and the oil levels. HAve they changed?
What condition are the 2 fluids like now, Milkshake colored or normal, other? If the fluids are good, then
you need to find where the burning/sizzling is coming from. Run it at idle with the hood open and look hard to see where the source is. The sweet smell is generally coolant. If the fluids are not right, get back and tell me what you found.

Does Dad have a pressure tester? Pressure test the cooling system, and compression test the motor.
