My car ran hot one day, changed coolant resevoir, car still ran hot, flushed system, changed therastat, car still runs hot, now have rusty coolant in resevoir, what is wrong?

Any check light on? When your engine warms up pass half way on the temp. Gauge, does your fan turns on? The rusty looks may have been wrong mixture of antifreeze, make sure you use the right coolant for the car with the right mixture, test the pressure cap for leaks, and pressure test the cooling system, making sure there is no leaks especially waterpump, and make sure the water pump belt is good.
