My problem is this: the 24 valve -3.0 v-6 engine will refuse to start after it has recently been shut off.[usually 5-10 min. off] towed it in, and it started right up, about 2 hours after problem occured. No check engine lights on, runs perfectly when it runs! Replaced the idle air control valve, ran perfectly for 2-3 weeks, and did the same exact thing a second time! towed it in, and you guessed it, started right up without doing anything to repair it! Ran the scan tool on it, and it found NOTHING! The only thing that I can see that was co-incidental between the two incidents, was both times, it was very damp weather! What could be getting damp/wet enough to shut the engine down? keep in mind, the engine was running perfectly before it was shut down! Could an electrical component be overheating and shorting out? What would that component be? Has there been a history of bad ignition switches?
