my check engine light is out i removed the dash. its 4 screws holding it in place,do i remove screws or remove the ones around the plastic ? the gear shift cable wire holds me back from removal all the way.do i have to remove the whole unit to replace bulb

Hello .. thanks for the donation .. much appreciated INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CAUTION:When removing gauges from instrument cluster, do not remove gauge pointers. Magnetic gauges cannot be recalibrated. Removal & Installation Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove rear wiper/washer switch knob. Remove center instrument panel finish panel screws. Disconnect electrical connectors and remove finish panel. Remove screws and parking brake release handle. Remove hood latch release handle from lower steering column cover. Remove screws and lower instrument panel steering column cover. Remove 4 screws and instrument panel steering column opening cover reinforcement. Remove column gearshift lever and position aside (if equipped). Remove 5 screws and instrument cluster finish panel. Disconnect electrical connectors from panel. Disconnect transmission range indicator (if equipped). Remove 4 instrument cluster screws. Pull instrument cluster forward and disconnect 3 connectors on back of instrument cluster. Remove instrument cluster from vehicle. To install, reverse removal procedure. Hope this helps
