Hi,
Past few days in the morning if I go to start the truck it may or may not start unless I put my foot on accelerator. Will run fine after a few seconds if I let it "Warm up". 5 -8 sec
It may take 2-3 times if I take off my foot it dies. Most of the time it will start fine.
I checked the IAC and cleaned it, it did not seem too dirty.
I also added a ACCEL Permanant Air filter(K&N Type)a few weeks ago with the proper amount of oil to the filter. I wounder if I should clean the MAF or replace it. That never was an issue and truck ran fine for days with the filter.
Any insight? 86'000 miles on it temps 50-70 in the morning recently.

I woudl check and clean the MAF also I would check the coolant temp sending unit which could be sending a too cool or too hot temp to the ECM.

Thx

Hi,
I cleaned the MAF still get the intermottant problem. I will try the coolant sensor next but I see 2 contenders that look exactly the same.
Both are on the intake manifold one to the Driverside closer to the front. The second to the pass side closer to the Injectors.
$22.00 part no big deal but want to eliminate anything else. I'm always pressing accelerator out of habit when I start it up now :)

It appears to be the IAC. After going to work in 31 degree temps I had to have my foot on accelerator or stall would occur.
I got to work and when it warmed up out side I started but was still @ 300 +/- RPM and would stall in 10 secs or so.
I unplugged the IAC and no difference I plugged it back in same. I tapped it with a screw driver and VOLIA!
RPMs went to norm. I cleaned it again and orderd a new one from ROCKAUTO. COM for $43 with shipping.
Thx Guys!
Lee :) :P
