the car starts runs for about 1 minute or less and dies. 2 days ago i was driving the car and i hit the gas and the car just dies while i was driving. so i was wondering if it could be the fuel pump went out in the vehicle

It sounds like the pump. You need to check fuel pump pressure to make sure. check out this video for directions, and many parts stores will lend or rent the tool.
