Electrical problem
1996 Mercury Cougar 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1996 cougar that wont start. Ive replace the coil pack and wires, the spark plugs and wires, cam sensor, crank sensor and battery. The altenator and starter test fine, the fuses are all fine, and there is plenty of compression in the cylinders. Its driving me nuts do you have any suggestions of where else for me to look as to why there's no spark? Also I did replace the harmonic balancer because it was wobbling. Could this possibly have stretched out my timing belt and that could possibly be the problem?

Just based on what you have said, I would try ignition module and stator. It sounds like you are not getting a pulse signal for the spark, which comes from the stator, most people replace module and stator as a pair. Good luck
