I have a 85 Merc Capri with a new 351w in it im trying to start it but its not getting gas to the cylinder is it posable that the timing chain was not put on with piston on exaust stroke? What valve would open before compression stroke?

If its not getting gas it will not start up -check the fuel pressure to rule out a defective fuel pump.

I have 7 to 9 lbs of fuel pressure and spark just not getting fuel to the cylinder
