whats the probability of the crank position sensor causing the car to die during driving?seems to happen mostly when slowing down. intermittently

If the check engine light is on and indicating a fault with the crank sensor then it's a good chance it's faulty. Symptoms include stalling, usually at slow speeds, or when shifting from drive to reverse . Sometimes you'll also get long cranks.
