Last week my check engine light came on, can you give me an idea of what may be the problem? The car seems to be running fine, no misses, not overheating ect. r

A check engine can be caused by several issues and may not even show as itself as a problem with running condition. Often times sensor failure can cause light to come on, misfires, high emissions, etc. Really the only way to know what has caused this is to have the code read by an OBD 2 scanner. This can be done at a shop or you can purchase a scanner from your local autoparts store.
