Top doesn't always work when switch is engaged. To get it to work when not operating top you have to drive ablock or two and then press switch and the top goes thru the proper operation.

First of all you might run a check on your charging system the convertible will not work properly if the battery is not charging correctly or if it is too low. Found that out with mine had a bad alternator. And 2nd are you sure you have a v6 in it? I seriously thought they only put a v8 in the 1994 models.
