2001 Other Mercedes Benz Models C240 with the shakes

Hello,
Can you please help me. I have a 2001 C240 MB, with over 109,000 miles on it, car has always run great, about 2 weeks ago car cut off on me, had the service B completed and car was ok, now the car shakes when im stopped, I cant accelerate all the way and sometimes my muffler will make spurt noises, I just paid 394.00 dollars for the tune up and dont want to have to take it back for another 500.00. I asked someone @ work and they said it might be the fuel pump and I should try some fuel injector first. Could this be the problem? Any advice you have is greatly appreciated. Thank You

A fuel pump could be your issue as this would cut off delivery of fuel causing the vehicle to sputter and die. However this could also be something like a mass airflow sensor which meters the air coming into the engine. When this component fails the vehicle can cut out, have poor throttle response, and shake like the vehicle is stalling.
