While driving my 1985 380SE at about 30 mph last week, it suddenly shut off without warning. It retained full electical power and the engine would still turn over, but it would not start. I coasted into a parking lot and let it sit for a few hours before attempting to restart it. It started this time, but ran for only about one second. One second! - that's not long enough! I trailored the car home, removed the fuel pump, and tested it with direct 12-volt power. It ran like a chump...I mean, a champ. I reinstalled the pump, but it will still not run. With the key turned on, I checked for electrical power at the pump connections but found none.

This car, though 22+ years old, has only about 95,000 miles. The car is in very good condition, inside and out, but has an occasional problem because of its age. The transmission was just totaly rebuilt. Tires are good. Leather and paint are very good. And it is FOR SALE for the right price.

check for blown fuses and fuel pump relay. if they are both good then check the wires for cracks and cuts causing the voltage to not reach the pump.
