1999 Mercedes Benz ML430 will not start sum times stalling

1999 Mercedes Benz ML430 V8 All Wheel Drive Automatic 141973 miles
will not start after driving . stalling as i am driving . if i replace the crank possition sensor will it fix the problem ?

I would definately start by replacing the crankshaft position sensor .. are there any fault codes stored on cars computer ?
