I was driving tonight when my car began to tremble andthen the check engine /engine electronics light came on. Then I began to smell a rotten egg smell coming from the exhaust. Could water have gotten into the engine?

The smell is sulpher in the exhaust, this can be caused by a number of things, but before we start to speculate, we need to know what the set fault code is that the check engine light indicates, you will need to get a scan done to have the code read, this swill give us better insight inti this problem, start here.
